Holy Trinity of domain names – COM, NET and org
When I have the Internet in the late ’80s there were not many top-level domains. Had. Gov for the government of the United States. MIL for the army of the Soviet Union. NET for groups linked to the network. Edu for educational institutions. COM for commercial, J. ORG for any other type of organization. And there are strict rules, which can use a top-level domain. These rules were eased, however, and almost anyone can get a domain name registration in threeOriginal TLDs:. COM,. NET y. ORG. I call the Trinity “saint” of top-level domains.
The number of top-level domains, has increased since then, of course. Each country or autonomous region now has its own two letter TLD, etc.. CA for Canada. CN China. And there are top-level domains, such as an extra. BIZ y. Information that has been created to offer alternatives to the standard top-level domain. In theory, this makes it easier for a good domain name, for they will be more top-level domains to choose from.
