Should my website be a .com or a .ca?

I’m registering the domain name for a band website. I live in Canada
Should I register with a .com or .ca and why what are the benefits of registering with one or the other?

Well a .com domain is more preferable than .ca one. If you want to just target your business in canada only then go for .ca domain or else buy a .com one.
